About
Finding Rhythms is a charity focused on the rehabilitation of inmates incarcerated in the prison system.
We take a portable rig of recording equipment into the prison itself where we write and record an album with the inmates over 6 6hr sessions. We produce up the songs and mix them outside, culminating in the inmates being given a CD of their own original music.
By completing the course, they also earn a BTEC in Employability which assists them getting a job on their release. The aim is to discourage repeat offence by inspiring confidence, proving that they can see a project through from start to finish - and hopefully show them that they have immense undiscovered talent.
They write the songs - and we assist them in telling their story. We usually create the beat/instrumental of the song but it is always through their direction. The groups we work with are not cherry picked for existing talent. We work with anyone to create something special - something a lot of them never thought they could achieve.
